Video Poetry Project Pitch
I would like to create a narrative about song writing as an emotional relief. The storyline would consist of a guy walking into his bedroom who is clearly upset or even angry. He would be running his hand through his hair while pacing in his room, and get so angry he throws his chair down to the ground. He looks conflicted, and grabs either a journal or his guitar, and starts writing or playing notes or lyrics. By the end of the video, the viewer can see that he's happier and knows that he'll be fine. This video will start out a bit darker and will gradually get lighter to match his mood. As he is writing his music, I want to have a wide shot of him sitting on his bed writing music, and there will be an overlapping video of the notes, or his hand writing the notes. I will also focus a lot on sound in this video. The room will be silent, but I will focus on his footsteps, the chair crashing down, his pencil writing, the strums of the guitar, etc.
